MP STF Policeman and Colleague Arrested for Allegedly Raping Teen in Bhopal (Representative Image) A 17-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a policeman in Bhopal after he lured her on the pretext of inviting her to his daughter’s birthday party, officials said on Friday. Another policeman, who was with him, allegedly kept watch along with his three-year-old son. The main accused has been identified as Santosh Sen, attached to the Madhya Pradesh Police Special Task Force and currently posted in Dhar district. The second accused is Jitendra Rajput, deployed in Gwalior district.
Both have been arrested, said Rajan Singh Ahirwar, SHO of Jahangirabad police station.Sen has been booked for rape and other offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Rajput faces the same charges except for rape. According to police, he arranged a car to bring the teenager and assisted Sen in committing the crime, Ahirwar said.Sen, who was recently transferred from Bhopal to Dhar, allegedly called the girl on the evening of July 22 from an acquaintance’s mobile phone and invited her to his son’s birthday party. When the girl reached near Lal Parade Ground around 6:30 pm, the two policemen were already in a car with Rajput’s three-year-old son, the official said.Sen gained the girl’s trust and took her to a house in MP Nagar.
There, he allegedly raped her while Rajput stayed outside and kept watch with his son, police said.The girl returned home and told her family. A complaint was then filed. Police first registered a ‘Zero FIR’ at Kamala Nagar police station before transferring the case to Jahangirabad police station for further investigation. A Zero FIR allows a complaint to be filed at any police station in India, irrespective of jurisdiction.“They were arrested on Thursday. We are going to produce them in court today," Ahirwar said.
