Karnataka Chief Minister-designate D.K. Shivakumar has decided to hold a low-key swearing-in ceremony at Lok Bhavan on June 3 to avoid public inconvenience. Shivakumar stated that he wants to prevent traffic disruptions and chaos in Bengaluru on a working day. The decision also aims to avoid a stampede-like situation, similar to the one witnessed during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru victory parade. While Shivakumar is set to take the oath, the composition of his cabinet remains undecided.

He and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are scheduled to visit Delhi to consult the Congress high command regarding power-sharing and cabinet formation. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge confirmed that no decisions on deputy chief ministers or ministerial appointments have been finalized, adding that cabinet expansion will likely occur after June 3. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader M.B. Patil met Shivakumar, describing their discussion as general and stating that the party high command will make the final decisions on ministerial roles.
