A parliamentary panel has summoned top officials from the Education Ministry, the Testing Agency, and the Central Board of Secondary Education to address the NEET paper leak and the ongoing on-screen marking controversy. The meetings focus on examination reforms and the utility of the digital marking system. Meanwhile, the CBSE marking row has become a political issue. The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha criticised the Prime Minister, citing student claims of malpractice, including answer sheets scanned using mobile phones.
The opposition party demanded the Union Education Minister's resignation, alleging that tender norms were tweaked to favour an edtech firm. They also claimed a massive data breach involving two million answer sheets. Following the allegations and concerns raised by a 19-year-old ethical hacker regarding technical flaws, the CBSE acknowledged vulnerabilities in its service provider's portal. The board stated it is actively shifting to a more secure infrastructure under the supervision of government experts and IIT teams.
