Opposition members of parliament marched to a memorial in the national capital to protest against the medical entrance exam paper leak and express solidarity with protesting students. Heavy security, including police and rapid action force personnel, was deployed outside the residence of the leader of opposition, where barricades were initially placed to block the leaders. The politicians traveled in buses to the memorial after being denied permission to hold a sit-in at a prominent monument.
The opposition leaders are demanding the resignation of the education minister, holding the government accountable for the alleged use of force against students and the recent student suicides linked to the exam irregularities. Concurrently, mobile internet services were suspended within a one-and-a-half-kilometer radius of a major protest site in the city until midnight. The political bloc maintains that parliamentary proceedings will not continue smoothly without accountability and the education minister resigning.
