Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy has urged the Ministry of Railways to take up development, upgradation and modernisation of Yerraguntla railway station falling under his constituency under ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme.
As 74 stations in Andhra Pradesh have been identified for development under this scheme, Mr. Reddy formally met Union Minister for Railways Ashwani Vaishnaw at New Delhi on Thursday and sought the inclusion of Yerraguntla under the scheme.
While pointing out that stations with lower footfalls had been selected for upgrade, he said that Yerraguntla was located close to several cement factories as well as Proddatur town, which is known for its gold trade.
The MP added that the upgrade would bring the much-needed amenities to the people in his constituency.
