While protests against the NEET question paper leak are going on, the Karnataka government is trying to put in strict precautionary measures to prevent any malpractices in the forthcoming examinations to fill government jobs. The government on Thursday conducted a high-level review of the preparedness of all departments for the conduct of the forthcoming recruitment examinations for more than 70,000 State government posts, including Police Recruitment Examinations scheduled in August, September and the subsequent months.
The meeting convened by Additional Chief Secretary to Home Department Rajender Kataria was attended by Umesh Kumar, Director-General of Police (Recruitment); Hitendra, Additional Director-General of Police (Law & Order); Meena Nagaraj, Revenue Commissioner; Prasanna, Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA); all Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Superintendents of Police and other senior officers. Kataria directed all district authorities to ensure meticulous planning and close inter-departmental coordination so that every examination is conducted in a peaceful, secure, fair and transparent manner.
He instructed officers to remain on high alert against question paper leakage, impersonation, organised cheating, use of electronic devices and any other unfair means. Cyber Crime Units and Intelligence Wings were directed to maintain vigilant surveillance over digital platforms. “The government
has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards examination malpractices. Strict action shall be taken under the Karnataka Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Corruption and Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023 against any person found violating the law,” he said.
