Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has sent a legal notice to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over what he described as a series of "false, malicious and defamatory" allegations linking him to Globarena Technologies, whose evaluation software came under scrutiny during the enquiry into the 2019 Telangana Intermediate results. The notice demands an unconditional public apology, withdrawal of the controversial statements, and a commitment to refrain from repeating such allegations in the future. Read Full Story The legal notice contends that the Chief Minister made several baseless allegations during a media interaction on examination irregularities and subsequently amplified them through social media and other public platforms without producing any evidence to substantiate his claims. According to the notice, the statements have been extensively circulated by television channels, newspapers, digital media platforms and social media, causing serious damage to KTR's reputation and public standing.
Rejecting the allegations in their entirety, the defamation notice states that there is no judicial finding, investigation report, official record or legally admissible material establishing that Globarena is owned, controlled or beneficially held by KTR, or that he has any financial or proprietary interest in the company. It argues that the claims were made recklessly, without factual verification, and are intended solely to tarnish his public image. The notice specifically refutes CM Reddy's allegations that Globarena is a benami company of KTR; that he deliberately failed to initiate criminal proceedings against the company despite alleged court directions; that he issued an experience certificate in its favour, that he enabled the firm to secure examination-related contracts, that he influenced the award of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) contracts through political connections, and was responsible for inaction that allegedly led to tragic student suicides.
Globarena Technologies' name made headlines earlier this year amid the major controversy over CBSE's on-screen marking system (OSM). KTR's notice terms the allegations levelled by CM Reddy as false, defamatory and devoid of any factual basis. Through the notice, the BRS leader has also highlighted his contribution to attracting global investments to Telangana as its former Minister for Industries, Information Technology, Municipal Administration and Urban Development. The notice has also claimed that the allegations made by the Chief Minister are a direct attack on the integrity, credibility and reputation earned by KTR through years of public service. Highlighting the constitutional responsibilities directly linked to the office of the Chief Minister, the notice states that statements made by a person occupying such a high office naturally carry enormous public credibility. KTR also asserted that by making allegations of corruption, benami ownership, abuse of office and criminal misconduct without any proof, the CM acted irresponsibly and contrary to the standards expected of a constitutional functionary.
