Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon says New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, rather than Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "should be arrested." His comments came after Mamdani called on the federal government to act on the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant for Netanyahu if the Israeli leader visits New York.
Danon accuses Mamdani of siding with Hamas and Iran, though he does not identify a specific crime the mayor committed and later frames his remark as a response to Mamdani's rhetoric. Danon also says Israel is prepared to retaliate if Iran attacks, but withholds judgment on a potential Saudi nuclear-enrichment program, saying Israel needs to see the details.
