Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali Angmo, has strongly defended the student-led protest, rejecting allegations that it turned violent or was taken over by anti-social elements. Speaking to India Today's Rajdeep Sardesai, she said the movement was "absolutely pure" and driven by students' genuine concerns over education. Angmo alleged that protesters remained peaceful, shared water and supported one another, while accusing authorities of unfairly portraying the agitation as violent.
