According to reports, one of the pilots became seriously unwell during the journey and was unable to perform duties while the aircraft was cruising at around 30,000 feet.
The pilot was reportedly given oxygen on board and required medical treatment after landing in London. The two other pilots also experienced symptoms during the flight, though they continued operating the aircraft. Their condition reportedly worsened as the journey progressed. British Airways stressed that passenger safety was never compromised despite the incident. “The welfare of our colleagues is a top priority, and we are reviewing crew accommodation in this location following some isolated reports of sickness," the airline said in a statement. Initial findings suggest the three pilots had breakfast together at their hotel in Hyderabad before departure. They also consumed bottled water supplied by an external vendor. Following the incident, all three pilots submitted air safety reports and were asked to provide samples to help investigators determine the cause of the illness.
