A protest march by the Youth Congress and Kerala Students Union (KSU) to the Head Post Office in Palakkad on Wednesday against the alleged police action against Congress leaders in New Delhi turned tense after activists attempted to breach the barricades. The march, organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC), condemned the alleged manhandling of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi by the Delhi Police during a demonstration demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET irregularities.
Tension broke out when the protesters tried to cross the barricades. The police used water cannons after the KSU activists sat on the road and attempted to block vehicles. The situation eased after the police forcibly removed the activists. KPCC general secretary C.
