Thousands of BCom graduates with BEd qualifications who have cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) have raised objections to the Department of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) over not being considered for recruitment.
They submitted a petition to the Commissioner of Public Instruction on Wednesday, stating that the DSEL recently issued a notification for the recruitment of 15,000 primary and high school teachers, but BCom graduates who have completed BEd and passed the TET have been denied the opportunity to apply.
“We have urged the withdrawal of the teacher’s recruitment notification immediately and the issuance of a re-notification allowing us to apply. We had already raised objections regarding the neglect of BCom graduates.
It is an injustice to eligible job aspirants,” they stated.
