The government has informed the Delhi High Court that the recent Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest over the NEET paper leak was not peaceful, alleging that elements within the mob resorted to violence. Opposing a batch of pleas seeking an independent SIT probe into alleged police brutality, the government dismissed the petitions as 'publicity-seeking', noting that none of the allegedly beaten individuals have filed an FIR.
The protests, which escalated on Monday, resulted in injuries to both demonstrators and police personnel. Meanwhile, the Congress is set to address the media amid ongoing pan-India protests between the opposition and the BJP over the issue.
