The remarks unfolded amid widespread students’ protests in Delhi following the recent paper leak in the May 3 NEET-UG examination. The protesting students have been demanding broader educational reforms and seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Singh accused the opposition parties of “attempting to use the students as a political tool". In a post on ‘X’, he wrote: “The ongoing protests in Delhi are a matter of serious concern. It is extremely unfortunate that some people are attempting to use the students and youth of our country as a political tool to fulfill their political interests. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, our government is fully committed to fulfilling the aspirations of students and youth and to their welfare. It is our responsibility to listen to every concern of our students and resolve it.
I am fully confident that India’s aware, mature, and sensible youth fully understand such deceptive attempts and will choose the path of progress, development, and nation-building", he said. ‘Committed To Ensuring Justice To All’ Rajnath Singh asserted that the government is committed to ensuring justice and fairness to all, especially the students and youth. He alleged that a “manufactured sense of anger" was merely a failed attempt by some opposition leaders to “mislead" the public. “We are committed to ensuring that no injustice is done to any individual, especially our students and youth. The Manufactured Sense of Anger by some opposition leaders is merely a failed attempt to confuse and mislead the public, especially our children and youth. We are fully sensitive to the sentiments and concerns of the youth", he said. Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a discussion on the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and said the opposition was making an “inappropriate attempt" to resolve the issues not in the Parliament but on the streets. “In a democracy, Parliament House is the place for discussion on issues, where the opposition is free to express its views. Therefore, if the opposition is serious, it should not disrupt the smooth functioning of the ongoing Monsoon Session and should draw the country’s attention to all issues within Parliament", the minister said. Stormy Scenes In Parliament As the monsoon session of the Parliament entered Day 3, stormy scenes unfolded in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, with the opposition INDIA bloc pressing the government for a discussion on the ongoing NEET-UG row and the students’ protests.
