The help desk, set up by the university's Legal Services Clinic, aims to simplify the SIR process by providing procedural guidance and logistical support to students, faculty, administrative staff and support personnel.
Read Full Story Volunteers assisted individuals in filling out SIR forms, retrieving details from the 2002 electoral rolls, locating their Elector's Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers, identifying the contact details of their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and scheduling callback appointments with BLOs wherever additional assistance was required. According to university officials, the initiative was launched to enhance socio-legal awareness and make the electoral roll revision process more accessible by bridging the gap between citizens and election authorities.
By providing on-campus assistance, the Help Desk seeks to reduce procedural barriers and encourage greater participation in the electoral process.
