Representatives of Ola, Uber, Rapido and other app-based cab aggregators have been called to the RGIA Outpost Police Station after cab drivers briefly staged a brief protest at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, in Hyderabad’s periphery, on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) amid the Telangana-wide strike by app-based transport workers.
Speaking to The Hindu, RGIA Outpost Police Inspector B. Kiran Kumar said the drivers had gathered in the airport parking area in the morning to stage a protest, leading to brief tension. “The police assured the drivers that their grievances would be heard by the representatives of the cab aggregators, who have been asked to appear at the police station later in the day,” he said.
The Inspector clarified that cab services to and from the airport remained unaffected despite the protest. Police personnel have been deployed at the airport to
ensure that passengers and commuters do not face any inconvenience.
