Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Congress on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) celebrated the birthday of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge at Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada. Later, speaking to the media, APCC vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji condemned the police lathi-charge on students who were peacefully protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday against the growing incidents of paper leaks across the country.
He said suppressing the voice of students was against the spirit of democracy and reflected the Central government’s failure to address the concerns of the youth. He demanded a comprehensive investigation into all paper leak cases and stringent action against those responsible.
He said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should accept moral responsibility and resign immediately. He also asked the Central government to enact legislation to prevent paper leaks and set up a transparent, fair and accountable examination system to safeguard the future of students.
