Later, he reportedly died by suicide by hanging himself inside the house, police said Locals and officials gathered outside the deceased's residence in Mysuru | Image credit: CNN-News18 A 40-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and two children before dying by suicide at his residence in Hunsur town of Karnataka’s Mysuru district. The deceased were identified as Harish (40), his wife Nishchitha (36), and their two children, Nexa (7) and Raksha (13).
Nexa was a Class 1 student. Police told CNN-News18 that Harish allegedly sealed the mouths and noses of his wife and children with plaster. Later, he reportedly died by suicide by hanging himself inside the house. He had reportedly sent his mother to his wife’s maternal home three days prior to the incident. Two suicide notes were also recovered from the house. In one, Harish allegedly mentioned property-related issues, saying he had “failed in life" and was therefore taking the extreme step. In the other, the deceased wrote that he didn’ want his family to suffer in his absence and hence, taking them along with him, said the police.
Upon receiving information, the Hunsur Town Police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A further probe is underway into the matter. Suicide Prevention. News 18.
