Fresh details have emerged in the investigation into the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal, with Pune Rural Police claiming that the accused duo, Siya Goyal and her alleged boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary, surveyed multiple locations, including Tiger Point in Lonavala and Visapur Fort, before allegedly choosing Lohagad Fort to execute their plan. Investigators allege that what initially appeared to be a tragic accident at Lohagad Fort on June 18 was, in fact, a meticulously planned murder. According to police, 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal was allegedly pushed off a cliff by his fiancée Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, who were arrested on June 23. After they decided on Lohagad, they shared some photos of the fort with each other.
They had finalised on Lohagad fort sometime before May 31," he said, while speaking to The Indian Express. According to investigators, the accused also researched different ways to kill Agarwal while attempting to make his death appear accidental. Accused Research Poison, Watch Murder Movies Police said the duo allegedly looked into poisoning, discussed arranging a hit to injure him, and watched crime-related films while exploring ways to avoid getting caught. Addressing reports that the accused had contacted a contract killer, an officer said, “Chetan and Siya discussed the option of arranging a hit to injure Ketan but did not contact any person for it. They researched other ways to eliminate Ketan including poisoning and also studied ways to protect themselves from getting caught. The two watched some murder conspiracy movies for this purpose. They even thought of ways to make his death look like an accident. While Chetan and Siya had decided to eliminate Ketan, the reason they wanted to make it happen on May 31 was to avoid Siya having to go to Bali with Ketan on June 6. The Bali trip was planned for eight days." Police said the alleged conspiracy intensified ahead of the planned Bali trip, which was eventually cancelled. Investigators claim the duo initially considered staging an accident that would only injure Agarwal to postpone the vacation, but later abandoned the idea fearing he could expose them if he survived. Investigators also examined whether the two had secretly married after some of their communications hinted at the possibility, but said no legal evidence has been found so far.
