Live now Last Updated: July 22, 2026, 05:29 IST Smoke rises from a port near the Strait of Hormuz, following a US strike in Kuhestak, Hormozgan Province. (Source: Reuters) US Iran War News LIVE Updates: Explosions rocked multiple Iranian cities, according to several Iranian state media outlets, after the US Central Command announced it had begun striking military targets in Iran for the “11th consecutive night.” The latest attack comes after US President Donald Trump said Washington was “not finished at all” with Iran, warning that it would take the country more than 20 years to recover from the damage caused by ongoing military operations.
Trump also said the US would soon target Iran’s heavily fortified Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site, a facility near Natanz believed to be linked to uranium enrichment. In response, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that any US strike on its nuclear facilities or other sensitive sites would be treated as an expansion of the war. Meanwhile, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers that the war has cost the United States $37.5 billion so far, up from nearly $29 billion in May.
He defended the Trump administration’s request for an additional $67 billion in Pentagon funding. Trump also warned Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels against carrying out a
threatened blockade of Saudi ports, saying the US would “take care of it” if they followed through. CHECK ALL THE LIVE UPDATES HERE
