A major political confrontation unfolded in New Delhi as Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, were detained during a protest near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence over the alleged medical entrance exam paper leak issue. The BJP criticized the demonstration, arguing that protests should be held only at designated venues and accusing the Congress of creating disorder in the national capital. In response, Congress leaders defended their right to protest, demanding accountability and calling for the resignation of the Union Education Minister over repeated examination controversies.
The political debate also exposed differences within the opposition alliance, with one regional party accusing the Congress of weakening the protest movement. Meanwhile, allegations of police excesses against student protesters were strongly denied by the Delhi Police.
