Youth in Dehradun have gathered near the secretariat area to protest against the Uttarakhand government, demanding the clearance of a massive recruitment backlog. The demonstrators are urging authorities to fill approximately 60,000 vacant posts under the UKSSSC and UKPSC. The Uttarakhand Berojgar Sangh highlighted that these demands have been pending for several years.
Protesters are also calling for fair recruitment processes and thorough investigations into previous paper leaks, referencing the 2022 paper leak incident. Police have deployed personnel and set up barricades to maintain law and order. The protesting youth have issued a three-day ultimatum, warning of a statewide agitation if their demands for fair recruitment and backlog clearance are not met.
