In a recent interview, former Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentarian GVL Narsimha Rao strongly criticized the opposition's protests, specifically targeting Rahul Gandhi's actions at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. Rao condemned the disruption of Parliament, stating, "Blocking Parliament is the greatest disservice that you can do to the public and to your own public cause." He argued that while peaceful protests are a democratic right, violent or disruptive actions, such as laying siege to the Prime Minister's residence, amount to lawlessness and anarchy.
Addressing the government's response, Rao defended the swift intervention at the Prime Minister's residence due to security concerns and highlighted the government's willingness to engage in debate. He also addressed the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar, noting that the government has shown large-heartedness by sending a senior minister to hear out the protesters' concerns, despite them being an unorganized entity.
