In the most lethal assault during a prolonged period of escalating violence in the Black Sea, the Russian Military executed a cruise missile strike on a vessel transporting corn close to Ukraine's southern port city of Odesa. According to the Navy of Ukraine, the Golden Leo, a Guinea-Bissau-flagged vessel operated by a crew consisting of members from India and Syria, was struck by three Russian cruise missiles, resulting in a fire on board.
Golden Leo is reportedly owned by Mumbai-based Ocean Grace Shipping Limited. At least 10 died in the attack, including 4 Indians, and the world's largest democracy summoned Russia's New Delhi envoy. The fight for Black Sea is escalating, and Russia is out for blood amid Ukraine's long-range drone barrages, stepping up assaults on Kyiv and other major cities.
