A court in L.B. Nagar has sentenced the owner of a fast food outlet in Shaheen Nagar to one day’s imprisonment for repeatedly operating his establishment beyond the permitted night-time hours despite repeated warnings from the police. The convict, Sheikh Zafar, 40, who runs Zafar Kebab & Fast Food Centre in Shaheen Nagar under the Balapur police station limits, was found guilty of violating the prescribed closing time for commercial establishments.
According to the police, cases were registered against him earlier for running the outlet beyond the permitted hours. Despite repeated warnings, he allegedly continued the practice. Police said another case was registered against him on July 13 after he was found operating the fast food centre beyond the stipulated closing time again.
He was produced before the Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court at L.B. Nagar on Tuesday where the court sentenced him to one day’s imprisonment. Following the
order, the Balapur police appealed to shop owners to adhere to the prescribed business hours and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to maintain public order.
