Congress Members of Parliament, including the Leaders of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, staged a sit-in protest near 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, the Prime Minister’s residence. The demonstration focused on the NEET paper leak and police action against student protesters. Participants wore handcuff tags to symbolize restrictions on Parliament and democracy. The Congress demanded a debate in both Houses, accountability for the leaks, and the resignations of the Education Minister and Home Minister.
The protest occurred after MPs visited students at a hospital, opting to organize the event instead of joining the gathering at Jantar Mantar. Because the site is a security zone, Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force personnel deployed across the area. Officers detained party workers and leaders while attempting to persuade the Leaders of the Opposition to vacate the site without force.
A Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office and the Union Home Secretary engaged in talks with the protesters to address the demands.
