In an interview with India Today, former Solicitor General of India Harish Salve argued that protests over the NEET leak should lead to parliamentary scrutiny rather than replace it. He said, "We have forged a weapon which today is completely decimating democracy," while criticising repeated disruption and empty benches. Salve said opposition parties should debate the causes of the leak, identify acts of commission or omission, seek accountability and press for safeguards against recurrence.
He described the Congress protest outside the Prime Minister's residence as narrative building and said assurances made on the street cannot substitute for commitments in Parliament. On Article 19, he distinguished free expression from disrupting public life and blocking traffic. Salve also urged voters not to re-elect MPs who fail to attend Parliament or vote, saying elected representatives must speak for citizens in the House.
