Congress MPs staged a flash protest outside the Prime Minister’s official residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, seeking a discussion on the NEET paper leak and the police action against protesting students in Delhi. The MPs had assembled at the Congress chief’s residence for a birthday lunch before reaching the high-security zone without announcing their plan.
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and other party leaders remained at the entrance as police sought to clear the area. The government sent the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office to speak with the protesters, hear their demands and persuade them to leave. The Congress had earlier approached the Lok Sabha Speaker over the demand for a parliamentary discussion.
The protest was organised separately from the student demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
