Government figures cited in the bulletin say 118 Delhi Police personnel and around 60 protesters were injured during the protests. Footage accessed by India Today shows officers with head, throat, hand and leg injuries, including a woman constable who required stitches and an Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police with a fractured hand.
Police are examining videos and CCTV footage of alleged stone-pelting and attacks, while four to five FIRs have been registered. The investigation is also examining whether some injured protesters were not students and whether a conspiracy was involved. Arrest and detention figures were not disclosed.
