The prototype is reportedly being tested with Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, which is expected to power several flagship Android phones next year.
Interestingly, iQOO is also said to be evaluating a version powered by MediaTek's next-generation Dimensity 9600 chip, suggesting the company could launch multiple variants. A gaming phone in disguise The chipset is only one part of the story. The leak also claims that the iQOO 16T could feature a built-in cooling fan, something that's usually reserved for dedicated gaming smartphones. If true, it would be one of the few mainstream flagship phones to include active cooling instead of relying only on vapour chambers. The phone is also tipped to feature a flat 2K Samsung display, means sharper visuals for gaming, streaming and everyday use.
While the exact display size remains unknown, the combination of a high-resolution panel and active cooling suggests iQOO is focusing heavily on sustained performance rather than just benchmark numbers.
