According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, two air defence systems and a radar installation at two different outposts in Bahrain, as well as missile defence systems, radars and satellite reception systems in Kuwait, were targeted in the fresh wave of attacks. “With this radar sweep, the enemy should prepare for even more decisive and powerful waves of drone and missile attacks," the IRGC said in a statement carried by IRNA.
Trump’s Warning, And US’ Attack The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced late Monday that it had unleashed its 10th consecutive night of strikes on Iran, intensifying operations to push for the reopening of the key Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime chokepoint that facilitates nearly one-fifth of global oil and gas trade, has emerged as a major conflict zone and a key stumbling block in negotiations between Washington and Tehran. The renewed bombings came after the death of another American service member in Iranian attacks on US facilities in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, bringing the total number of military fatalities to 17. The new round of escalation also followed US President Donald Trump’s warning to Iran over the deaths of American service members. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!" According to the US CENTCOM, the strikes targeted “Iranian military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems to degrade Iran’s ability to continue attacking commercial vessels flowing through the Strait of Hormuz." Even as the US and Iran continued exchanging strikes, a faint glimmer of hope arose after Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni visited Pakistan –– a key mediator –– to hold talks with the country’s leadership to restore peace in West Asia.
