According to the police, the victim, Neha, had started working at a hospital after her husband, Ravi, died about a year ago. There, she became acquainted with Suresh, a hospital employee who was already married and had a five-year-old son. The two allegedly entered into a relationship.
Police said Neha had been asking Suresh to marry her over the past two weeks. Investigators claim Suresh wanted to end the relationship but instead allegedly plotted to kill her. During questioning, police said Suresh admitted to searching online for methods of murder and allegedly roped in his friend, Farhan, by promising him money to help execute the plan. Poison Allegedly Mixed Into IV Drip According to the police, Neha arrived at the hospital on Saturday complaining of weakness and feeling unwell. Investigators alleged that Suresh took advantage of her condition by suggesting she be put on a glucose drip. While administering the IV, he allegedly mixed poison into the drip. Police further claim that when Neha lost consciousness, she was also forced to consume a poisonous substance, leading to her death. The exact nature of the poison and the post-mortem findings are expected to form a key part of the investigation. Fake Suicide Note Allegedly Planted Police said the accused allegedly tried to cover up the crime by staging it as a case of suicide.
Investigators claim Suresh wrote a fake suicide note and placed it among Neha’s belongings in an attempt to mislead the police. CCTV footage allegedly showed both Suresh and Farhan leaving the hospital with the victim around the time of the incident. According to the investigation, after allegedly carrying out the murder, the two men went out for a meal together before leaving the area. Police have since arrested both accused and said further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and gather forensic evidence.
