Devastating news from the Black Sea: Four Indian seafarers were killed and a fifth critically injured when MV Golden Leo came under attack while departing Ukraine’s Odesa port. The ship had 17 crew members, five of them Indians. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the deaths, strongly condemned the targeting of civilian vessels, and said Indian diplomats in Ukraine are providing full support.
One of the deceased is a 26-year-old merchant navy sailor from Kasaragod, Kerala. His grieving family first learned of the tragedy through a company email.
