Synopsis The shift comes as colleges come under pressure to improve graduate employability in a job market hiring fewer technology candidates for conventional entry-level roles while seeking specialised skills. The share of entry-level hiring in India’s technology sector fell to about 15% in 2025 from 28% in 2024, while emerging-technology roles accounted for nearly 52% of the demand, ET reported in May. Nearly one in seven technology job postings in January sought AI skills, against less than 9% a year earlier.
