The report, citing unnamed US officials, said the attacks were not publicly disclosed, with officials saying the decision was taken for operational security reasons and to avoid revealing details that could help Iran target US forces. The Pentagon official said injury figures are not always released, particularly when service members quickly return to duty. 3 US Troops Killed In Recent Iranian Attacks The Pentagon’s update came after it confirmed the deaths of three US service members in Iranian attacks in Jordan and Iraq over the weekend. Two troops were killed in a ballistic missile and drone attack on a US base in Jordan, while another service member was killed in northern Iraq during the controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian drone. The deaths brought the total number of confirmed US military fatalities in the war, which began on February 28, to 17.
