The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister conducted a surprise inspection at a bio-CNG plant in Chetpet, Chennai. The facility processes 100 tonnes of food and vegetable waste every day. During the visit, he reviewed operations and directed officials to ensure waste is segregated at source, with biodegradable material processed scientifically into bio-CNG.
He also called for complete scientific waste management across Tamil Nadu within a defined timeframe. The bulletin linked the inspection to Chennai’s garbage crisis and plans to remove landfill sites.
