नई दिल्ली में संसद परिसर के आसपास उस समय माहौल तनावपूर्ण हो गया, जब प्रदर्शनकारियों और पुलिस के बीच टकराव की स्थिति बन गई. हालात को नियंत्रित करने के लिए पुलिस ने आंसू गैस के गोले छोड़े और सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को और सख्त कर दिया. इस बीच संसद भवन के मुख्य प्रवेश द्वार को बंद कर दिया गया, जिससे आवाजाही भी प्रभावित हुई. इसके पहले आज सुबह भी जब आंदोलनकारियों ने जंतर-मंतर से संसद की ओर कूच किया था तब पुलिस ने इन्हें रोकने के लिए लाठियां भांजी थीं.
इस दौरान पुलिस पर हमले के साथ गाड़ियों में भी तोड़फोड़ की गई..दिल्ली के जनपथ रोड पर जनपथ मेट्रो स्टेशन के बाहर पुलिस की गाड़ी पर पथराव किया गया..
