Israeli settlers have killed at least two Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, with the attack happening in the town of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah on Sunday. Another five Palestinians were injured. Sources have told Al Jazeera the settlers were under the protection of Israeli forces and were trying to steal sheep.
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli occupation soldiers aided, helped, and protected the settlers, who then fired on the residents. Evidence of bullet casings and sound bombs used against residents was found at the scene. Residents expressed anger during funeral processions but also fear of retribution, with hardly anyone willing to speak on camera.
According to Palestinian official sources, Israeli settlers have carried out more than 11,000 attacks against communities across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the year, and residents fear this has become their new violent reality.
