Government sources said no assurance was given on the three demands submitted by a protest delegation during talks with a Union minister. The delegation was asked to end its sit-in and help restore normalcy. The government said the situation was monitored throughout the day, with police and paramilitary forces instructed to avoid force and use only the minimum necessary if unavoidable.
Officials do not plan to forcibly evict protesters, allowing the agitation to continue into the night. Government sources also maintained that genuine aspirants were focused on counselling and admissions as multiple government meetings continued.
