Saurav Das said the protest and Sonam Wangchuk’s fast would continue after police action at Jantar Mantar. He said, “The movement will definitely continue in any case,” while adding that organisers were waiting to hear from the government. Das claimed volunteers had found bags of stones in a van near the protest site and had alerted police.
He said anti-social elements might have tried to derail the protest. Das also detailed a meeting with JP Nadda, where the group demanded Dharmendra Pradhan’s removal from the Cabinet, Sonam Wangchuk’s release from hospital, and ₹1 crore compensation for each family of NEET aspirants who died by suicide. He said Nadda had promised to discuss the demands with senior Cabinet members but had made no commitment.
Das also said the movement would expand nationwide around youth issues. Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
