Delhi Police and paramilitary forces used smoke canisters and cane-charged some protesters at Raisina Road as a march moved towards Parliament. Protesters blocked the road linking Janpath, Ashok Road and Raisina Road and demanded the Education Minister's resignation. Rapid Action Force personnel in riot gear and water cannon vehicles were deployed near the protest site.
Despite police efforts to clear the road, protesters remained at the site, with some moving towards Raisina Road and a nearby park. Farm unions also joined the protest in support.
