Delhi Police has issued a clarification dismissing social media claims that a twelve-year-old girl was assaulted and sustained a head injury during a protest. The police stated that reports of forty to fifty other individuals suffering head injuries are completely false and urged the public not to spread misleading information.
Additionally, authorities denied claims regarding the detention of a protest leader. Meanwhile, clashes erupted between security forces and protesters at Jantar Mantar and Connaught Place. Police used light force, baton charges, and tear gas to disperse the crowd and restore order. Internet services were reportedly snapped in Central Delhi amid the ongoing commotion.
