The first day of Parliament's Monsoon Session saw protests spill onto the streets of central Delhi, with clashes breaking out between demonstrators and security forces during the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) 'Sansad Chalo' march. Reacting to the protests, BJP MP and actor Hema Malini questioned what protesters hoped to achieve by disrupting proceedings. She said such matters should be resolved through dialogue rather than demonstrations, adding she did not want to comment extensively on the issue and added that the government would take an appropriate stand. All about CJP's 'Sansad Chalo' protest The CJP had called for the march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament to demand education reforms and seek the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. The protest coincided with the opening day of the Monsoon Session, prompting heightened security arrangements across central Delhi and around the Parliament complex. Demonstrators and police clashed repeatedly as protesters attempted to move beyond the security barricades. Security forces deployed tear gas shells, carried out lathi charges and brought in anti-riot vehicles as authorities worked to contain the situation.
