Protests escalated in central Delhi as police lobbed tear gas shells to disperse crowds blocking the outer circle of Connaught Place. Meanwhile, the government initiated backdoor negotiations. Senior BJP leader JP Nadda met two representatives of the CJP at his Janpath residence. The delegation submitted a letter outlining three primary demands. They sought a video appeal for calm from Sonam Wangchuk, the resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak, and compensation for the families of students who allegedly committed suicide due to the controversy.
While areas like Kartavya Path and Janpath have been cleared by security personnel, protesters continue to hold their ground in parts of Connaught Place, resulting in a head-on situation with the Delhi Police.
