CJP protesters at Jantar Mantar clashed with Delhi Police while attempting to march towards the Parliament during the monsoon session. The protesters, raising issues related to NEET and youth rights, broke through multiple layers of police barricades. Delhi Police had imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to prevent massive gatherings in the high-security zone.
As the crowd advanced, police deployed tear gas and conducted a mild lathi charge to disperse them. In the ensuing chaos, protesters allegedly resorted to stone-pelting, resulting in serious injuries to several police personnel who were subsequently rushed to the hospital in ambulances. The Rapid Action Force was deployed to manage the escalating situation. The protests, which also saw Sonam Wangchuk being removed by police following a deteriorating health condition during his hunger strike, have caused severe traffic and communication disruptions across central Delhi.
