Activist Sonam Wangchuk on Monday wrote to the Medical Superintendent of Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, saying he was feeling "very fine" and requesting permission to leave the hospital, even if temporarily, so that he could participate in the CJP's 'Sansad Chalo' march to Parliament. In a handwritten letter addressed to the Director/MS of Safdarjung Hospital, Wangchuk said his health parameters were normal and urged the authorities to allow him to join the protest.

Hence, I request you to kindly allow me to leave the hospital, even if temporarily, so that I can join the March to the Parliament, Sansad Chalo this morning," Wangchuk wrote. "I shall be most grateful," he added.
The letter comes amid a standoff over Wangchuk's continued stay at the government hospital, where he has been undergoing medical observation after his prolonged fast. Earlier in the day, Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali J Angmo, moved the Delhi High Court challenging an order that declined to intervene in his treatment at Safdarjung Hospital. In her appeal, she argued that the order effectively keeps Wangchuk confined to the hospital without any formal arrest and deprives both him and his family of decisive authority over his medical treatment.
The Delhi High Court agreed to hear the matter and is scheduled to take up the plea later in the day. Ends
