A 24-year-old man from Karnataka's sustained critical injuries after falling around 30 to 40 feet during a zipline ride at a private resort in Uttara Kannada district, with his family alleging negligence and safety lapses on the part of the resort. The victim, identified as Kubera Surapura, suffered multiple fractures and severe nerve damage in the fall at the Sterling River Resort in Dandeli on July 3.
He has undergone multiple surgeries and remains under treatment. Read Full Story According to his family, the accident occurred while Surapura from Vijayapura district was participating in a zipline activity at the resort. They alleged that inadequate safety measures led to the incident and claimed the resort had initially assured them it would bear the cost of his medical treatment but later failed to honour the commitment.
The family has demanded accountability, alleging negligence in the operation and maintenance of the adventure activity. Sterling River Resort, however, has denied the allegations of negligence. In its response, the resort described the incident as an unfortunate mishap and maintained that all prescribed safety protocols were in place at the time of the accident.
