The tragedy occurred in Habibpur Siri village under the Phugana police station area. Police identified the deceased as Islamuddin, a daily wage labourer, his children Ruksar (12), Alsifa (7) and Ahad Ahmed (3), and Zeeshan Ahmed.
Islamuddin’s wife and another child sustained injuries. According to villagers, continuous rain caused the mud roof to collapse. After hearing a loud noise, residents rushed to the house, began rescue efforts, and informed the police. District officials and rescue teams later reached the spot and recovered the victims from the debris. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared all five dead. SDM Satender Singh said the victims were shifted to the hospital immediately after being rescued, but they could not be saved. Senior police and civil administration officials also visited the site to oversee the rescue and relief operations. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, while the administration is assessing the extent of damage caused by the heavy rainfall in the area.
