Ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s proposed march to Parliament on Monday (July 20, 2026) to press for education reforms, climate and education activist Sonam Wangchuk said that he will end his hunger strike on Monday (July 20, 2026) if the government is ready to take accountability for failures in the education system or the MPs are ready to take up the issue in the parliament.
Many political leaders, actors and common people thronged the protest site at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, even as authorities put in place elaborate security arrangements and said that no permission had been sought for any such procession. Security personnel with riot guns have been deployed in the national capital, prompting the CJP to issue a call for more people to arrive at the site. The CJP’s
1.5-kilometre march is planned to start from the Jantar Mantar protest site at 9 a.m., before moving through the Patel Chowk roundabout and terminating at the new Parliament building.
