A 30-year-old man from Gujarat, who was allegedly lured to Bihar on the promise of marriage and a lucrative job, was rescued from illegal confinement in Rohtas district, police said on Sunday. One person was arrested in connection with the case, they said. The victim, Mukesh Bhai of Surendranagar district in Gujarat, was rescued from Beda village in the Mufassil police station area, they said.

The investigation began after Mukesh’s family approached the Gujarat Police, suspecting foul play as he had repeatedly called them seeking money on the pretext of paying for training, Singh said.
The Gujarat Police alerted their counterparts in Bihar, following which Mukesh was rescued and one accused, Mohammad Irfan, was arrested, he added. Police said the victim’s statement would be recorded before further legal action is initiated, after which arrangements would be made for his return to Gujarat.
